Phone Number
Assign your Delphi its own SMS/voice line for 24×7 texts and calls. Only available for Scaler and Custom plans.
What it is
Phone Integration gives your Delphi a dedicated SMS/voice number. You choose a toll‑free or 10 DLC local number (US/Canada), or a US toll‑free for the rest of the world. Carriers review your business details for compliance, then, once approved, Delphi handles inbound texts and calls.
Note: Getting a phone number is on an application basis. It can have delays given that it's acquired via an outside provider that is subject to compliance.
Quick Start: Apply for SMS/Voice
Acquiring a phone number is on an application basis.
Go to Integrations → Phone (SMS).
Click SMS.
Answer the questions in the form about SMS.
(Builder users see an option to purchase the $150/month Phone add‑on at this step. Scaler and above can apply immediately.)
Once approved, start your SMS application.
Select your region.
Pick account type: Business or Individual/Sole Proprietor (US/Canada only).
Select number type:
Toll‑free — faster approval (3–5 days), nationwide reach.
10 DLC — local area code; longer approval (1–3 weeks); US/Canada only.
Complete the form: enter name, legal business name, business contact, website, address, and use case exactly as they appear on public records. Ensure the same business name is visible on your site’s homepage/footer.
Submit and track status:
Pending Review (blue) — carrier verification in progress.
Connected (green) — approved; start texting/calling.
Review Failed (red) — details didn’t match; click the card, correct info, and resubmit.
Connect WhatsApp
Go to Integrations → SMS.
Scroll to Connect your Delphi to WhatsApp → click Connect.
Log in with Meta credentials (the account must have ownership permissions).
Done—WhatsApp is connected to your Delphi number.
FAQs / Troubleshooting
What’s the difference between toll‑free and 10 DLC?
Toll‑free (800‑xxx‑xxxx): US/Canada reach; typically 3–5 business days approval. May deliver internationally, but not guaranteed—use WhatsApp or another channel for consistent global messaging.
10 DLC (10‑digit local): local presence; 1–3 weeks vetting; U.S.‑only for traffic (won’t reach international numbers). Use toll‑free or WhatsApp for overseas.
My request failed—what do I do? When you see Review Failed (red), carriers rejected your details. Fix and resubmit:
Check legal name matches tax records.
Add business name to site (footer/About) so carriers can verify.
Verify tax ID and address; fix typos/outdated info.
Resubmit in the Phone card. Approval countdown resets after each resubmission.
Can I pick a specific area code? Yes, when selecting a 10 DLC number you can request any available US/Canada area code. Toll‑free numbers are assigned from the 8xx range.
Can I pick the entire number? No, choosing a specified number is not possible.
Will international users be able to text my Delphi? Global SMS delivery varies by carrier. Anyone can message via WhatsApp once connected, which is ideal for overseas audiences.
How do I test texting/calling? After status is Connected, text and call the new number from your phone; you should receive Delphi’s SMS greeting and voice intro.
Can I port an existing business number into Delphi? Port‑in of an existing 10DLC business number isn’t supported except for those on our Immortal plan.
