Alerts

Alerts are triggers used inside Actions to tell Delphi when to act. They’re written in natural language, and Delphi automatically interprets them to determine when and why to trigger.

Depending on how you phrase your alert, Delphi will use one of two matching modes: keyword-based or context-based.

Keyword-Based Alerts

Best for precision triggers that look for exact words or phrases in a message. Use when you need low noise and reliable matches.

How to write them:

  • Include the exact terms or variations you care about.

  • Keep phrasing short and specific.

  • Use when a single word or tag defines the signal.

Examples:

  • “Notify on Robotics.”

  • “When a user says Library of Minds.”

  • “When someone mentions Series B.”

Context-Based Alerts

Best for intent-driven triggers that depend on meaning, tone, or relationships across full messages. Delphi interprets the entire context to understand what you’re looking for.

How to write them:

  • Use natural language.

  • Include conditions, thresholds, or exclusions for clarity.

  • Ideal for complex, nuanced, or strategic use cases.

Examples:

  • “Alert me when a founder in fintech shares more than $1M ARR and plans to raise within 6 months, excluding crypto exchanges.”

  • “Notify when a founder explains why their company’s timing matters right now.”

  • “Tag when a user seems uncertain about next steps.”

Tagging and Targeting with Alerts

A common way to use alerts is to automatically tag users based on what they talk about or how they behave. These tags help you segment your audience, personalize follow-ups, and spread the right knowledge or offers to the right people at the right time.

Example triggers for tagging:

  • “When a user mentions interest in coaching.” → Add tag Coaching Lead

  • “When someone discusses AI or automation.” → Add tag AI Enthusiast

  • “When a user references burnout or motivation.” → Add tag Wellness Focus

Once users are tagged, you can:

  • Send targeted educational content (e.g., relevant frameworks or insights).

  • Trigger upsells or product recommendations that align with their interests.

  • Route information to specialized Delphis or team members.

Tags are persistent, searchable, and can be used across your workspace to filter conversations, target communications, and drive growth intelligently.

Alerts create signals. Tags turn them into strategy.

Use Cases by Role

Investors

Track company milestones, traction signals, and market timing.

  • “When a founder mentions community traction or user growth.”

  • “When a founder explains why their company’s solution matters right now.”

  • “When a founder describes how their product empowers everyday people.”

  • “When a founder mentions plans to raise or expand.”

Example Action: Tag as Target Pitch or notify your CRM.

Founders

Identify key conversations, partnerships, and media moments.

  • “When an investor mentions interest in the next round.”

  • “When a journalist asks for a comment or story.”

  • “When a candidate references mission or values.”

  • “When someone mentions your company or product by name.”

Example Action: Route to Investor Relations or mark for follow-up.

Recruiters

Catch hiring cues or culture-fit insights.

  • “When a candidate mentions compensation or remote work.”

  • “When someone asks about company culture or leadership.”

  • “When a founder discusses team expansion.”

Example Action: Send to Hiring Dashboard or tag as Potential Candidate.

Creators and Coaches

Track engagement, sentiment, and audience intent.

  • “When a follower asks for a framework or guide.”

  • “When someone mentions a podcast episode or course.”

  • “When a user talks about motivation, burnout, or learning.”

Example Action: Add to Content Ideas or Lead Nurture sequences.

Consultants and Experts

Identify leads and project opportunities.

  • “When someone mentions struggling with growth or systems.”

  • “When a client asks for strategy help or next steps.”

  • “When a business references a KPI or performance gap.”

Example Action: Tag as Sales Opportunity or send an internal alert.

Managing Alerts

Create a new alert: Go to Mind → Alerts → Add Alert and type your condition. Then choose which action it should trigger.

Edit or remove: Hover over the alert, click , and select Edit or Delete.

Pause temporarily: Toggle the alert to pause it. It will stop triggering but remain saved for later.

Best Practices

  • Start simple — one alert per objective.

  • Keyword-based for precision; context-based for nuance.

  • Test phrasing to balance sensitivity and accuracy.

  • Combine alerts with Actions for tagging, routing, or notifications.

  • Review alerts regularly and refine wording as needs evolve.

Example Actions

Alerts can trigger:

  • Slack or email notifications (“Investor alert: new founder meeting conditions met.”)

  • Tagging (“Tag as Warm Lead.”)

  • Content routing (“Move to Investor Pitches folder.”)

  • Analytics tracking (“Track mentions of sustainability this week.”)
