Bio

Tell people who you are and train your Delphi at the same time.

What it is

A text block (≤ 1,500 characters) that sits beneath your header. Only the first lines show by default; visitors click View more to read the rest. This is the only Profile field (besides certain Socials) that also feeds your Delphi’s knowledge.

Behavior

  • Expandable: Collapsed by default for a cleaner page.

  • Length: Up to 1,500 characters; short paragraphs scan best.

  • Training data: Included in your Delphi’s learning; keep it accurate and current.

Why this matters

  • Hooks attention: The first two lines appear everywhere, make them count.

  • Sets expectations: Clarifies your scope and outcomes.

  • Teaches your Delphi: Informs tone and facts used in conversations.

Quick Start (3 minutes)

  1. Open: Profile → Bio and click Edit.

  2. Write / paste your bio (we auto‑generate one from LinkedIn; feel free to replace).

  3. Save changes

  4. Preview the collapsed view

How to edit (step‑by‑step)

  1. Click Edit in the Bio section.

  2. Type or paste your copy. Use short paragraphs (2–3 sentences each).

  3. Keep the mission sentence first (it’s visible even when collapsed).

  4. Watch the character counter (≤ 1,500).

  5. Click Save changes.

  6. Preview and adjust until the first lines stand on their own.

Best practices

  • Lead with your mission (first sentence = your promise).

  • Keep it scannable: 2–3 sentences per paragraph.

  • Plain language, active verbs; skip jargon.

  • Trim ruthlessly: every word should earn its place.

  • Align with Starters: echo topics you list in Suggested Questions.

Example bios (steal this structure)

Coach (concise, outcome‑first): "I help first‑time founders turn ideas into revenue in 90 days. Former PM at Acme; 12 launches → $8.2M ARR. Ask me about validation, pricing, or your first 10 customers."

Educator (scannable, scope‑clear): "Professor of cognitive science focusing on memory and learning. I translate research into practice for teachers and learners. Not medical or psychological diagnosis—see a licensed clinician for care."

Creator (friendly, human): "Writer and podcaster exploring better creative habits. Expect simple routines, weekly prompts, and honest notes from the trenches. New here? Start with: ‘How do I publish weekly without burning out?’"

FAQs

  • Will editing my bio change how my Delphi answers? Yes, your bio is training data. Edits help align tone and facts.

  • How often should I update it? Whenever your focus, proof points, or offerings change.

Troubleshooting

  • Collapsed preview looks awkward? Move your mission to sentence #1 and shorten the first paragraph.

  • Over the limit? Aim for 900–1,200 chars; shorter often reads stronger.
