Initial Message
Your first hello—sent (or spoken) the first time someone visits.
What it is
A ≤ 400‑character welcome that your Delphi shows in chat and speaks in voice/video calls the first time someone visits. After a user’s first chat, this intro auto‑adapts based on their past conversations to increase engagement. It may occasionally reappear in later sessions.
Best length: 150–250 characters. Tone: short, warm, invitational.
Quick Start (1 minute)
Go to Profile → Initial Message and click Edit.
Type a friendly invite or question (≤ 400 chars).
Save changes.
Preview text and listen to the spoken version; adjust tone if needed.
How to edit (step‑by‑step)
Edit: Initial Message → Edit → write your greeting.
Style: Lead with a verb (e.g., Welcome, Let’s, Ask me about…).
CTA: End with a clear invitation or question.
Save: Click save changes.
Preview: Check both written and spoken delivery.
Best practices
Be engaging: The greeting sets the tone, curious, helpful, human.
Ask a question: Invite users to share a goal (e.g., What’s your biggest hiring hurdle today?).
Match your voice: Use words you’d say out loud; avoid buzzwords.
Keep it tight: 150–250 chars is plenty.
Peer test: DM it to a friend—if they want to reply, you nailed it.
Examples (copy, then tailor)
Coach: “Welcome! I help first‑time founders go from idea to revenue. What’s the next decision you’re stuck on, validation, pricing, or launch?”
Recruiter: “Let’s land your next job! Tell me about your experience and key skills you've developed in the last couple years.”
Fitness: “Ask me about training, recovery, or nutrition. What’s your goal and current week—so we can start smart?”
FAQs / Troubleshooting
Why did my initial message change? After users chat, Delphi adapts the greeting to reflect their past interactions—that’s intentional for engagement.
Can I force it to stay the same? No; only first‑time visitors see the static intro. Returning users get a dynamic greeting.
Too long? Aim for 150–250 chars; trim adjectives and stack the value + question.
